Bio
Rob
Albertson is the owner and chief engineer of Rare Air Studios, Inc.
Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Mr. Albertson attended the Cincinnati
Conservatory of Music where he studied with famed drummer John
Von Ohlen and had the opportunity to perform with many jazz legends
including John
Scofield, Scott
Hamilton, David
Liebman, and Frank
Foster. Upon graduating from CCM, Rob returned home to Miami
where he attended the famed University
of Miami graduate School of Music studying with composer/arranger
Gary
Lindsay and digital audio guru Ken
Pohlman.
After graduating with a Master of Music degree, Rob came to Atlanta and
opened Rare Air Studios. As a producer/engineer he has worked
with Curtis Mayfield,
Maurice
Starr and Morris
Day & The Time, as well as many others.
Mr. Albertson is an award-winning composer and sound designer for film,
advertising and video. In addition, Rob teaches audio and post-production
on the university level and still finds time to write articles and reviews
for Digital Media, Pro Audio News, Creative
Mac, and Video
Systems magazines.
Rare Air Studios is the culmination of Rob's diverse technical
education and creative musical background, resulting in his lifelong dream
of providing quality recording services.
